The Peugeot Design Lab, the French automakers’ industrial design division will debut a new surfboard concept at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The GTi Surfboard takes inspiration from Peugeot’s recent performance oriented 208 GTi, RCZ R and Onyx Concept cars.

The the GTi Surfboard’s shape breaks from tradition and is based on a ‘coupe franche’ (clean cut) design theme. The board’s design features distinct front and back ends. The front represents Emotion and and is shaped from natural wood. The shape of the back aims to convey the idea of Motion and integrates sculpted tail fins that Peugeot say offer a more responsive and agile ride quality. The complex, one piece shape was achieved using carbon fiber.
