Landfill-bound vinyls intercepted and put to better use as fashionable spectacles.

If simply building a collection of classic vinyls isn’t enough for you, then you might be interested in a new service called Vinylize. The company allows you to turn old or unwanted records into a new pair of chic eyewear.

Using a laser cutter, the company is able to up-cycle vinyl records into a new pair of glasses suitable for men and women – even the carrying case is made from vinyl.

Vinylize has been crafting designer glasses for ten years now, preferring heavier vinyls from the 1960’s for their durability. Apart from recycling vinyl, the company is also committed to making an environmental impact by running a paperless office and re-using shipping materials.

For any vinyl purists, you’ll be glad to know that the company intercepts vinyls destined for the landfill, instead of stealing those nestled away in many a collector’s home.
