Sound World Solutions is making hearing aids more affordable and accessible with their prototype Bluetooth hearing aid.

The $300 device can be adjusted by connecting it via Bluetooth to a smartphone app. Users are able to conduct hearing tests using their smartphones and are able to adjust the device according to their requirements. This convenient feature lets the users adjust their hearing aids by themselves so they don’t have to go to to the doctor to get their devices adjusted.

The company was founded by engineer Stavros Basseas, who has over 30 years of leadership and engineering experience in the hearing aid industry, and David Green, who has extensive experience in social entrepreneurship ventures. The company uses affordable off-the-shelf Bluetooth technology for its device and this makes the product a cheaper and more convenient alternative to other medical hearing devices.
