‘Glass Tesla’ enables Model S owners adjust the interior temperature, remotely lock the car and access real-time data about mileage.
The Glass Tesla app lets Tesla Model S owners remotely control features of their car using Google Glass. It was developed by Sahas Katta, who had access to his dad’s Model S vehicle and reverse-engineered the official Tesla app to run on Google Glass.
Glass Tesla enables drivers to view their vehicle charging status, stop or start charging via Google Glass, and even open the charge port without having to go back to their car. They can use the app to locate their Model S on a map and get directions to it, even instructing it to honk the horn or flash the headlights if they still can’t spot it.
The app can be used to see whether the doors, trunk, or sunroof are open or closed, enabling drivers to lock or unlock their car remotely and control the sunroof too. They can also view the vehicle’s interior and exterior temperatures, enabling “auto climate” with a single tap to cool or heat it to an optimal temperature from afar.
