A tablet case disguised as a cheap magazine cover helps fend off potential thieves.
Digital newsstand Lekiosk polled 2,000 British travelers on their technology use while on holiday, and found that many tablet-owners are hyper-paranoid that their devices will be stolen pool- or sea-side. More than one third claimed that their holiday experience was ruined because they were constantly guarding their high-tech valuables from potential thieves.
To combat this paranoid holiday state, Lekiosk developed a line of iPad cases that look just like popular glossy magazine covers when closed. The anti-theft cases take on the appearance of covers like Cosmopolitan, Men’s Health, and Esquire.
By disguising tablets as inexpensive magazines, Lekiosk hopes that thieves will pass over these unassuming devices – allowing vacationers to hide their tablets in plain sight and kick back on their days off.
Lekiosk is gauging interest in this collection before moving onto production for a full launch for next summer.
