A new app can tell drivers when they’re drowsy behind the wheel and prevent people from getting into road accidents.

Cafe Amazon in Thailand has developed their own alongside BBDO Proximity that can monitor drivers for signs of sleepiness. When it detects any of these signs, the app will direct you to the nearest cafe for a caffeine pick-me-up.

In order to use the app, your phone or device needs to be mounted on a vehicle’s windshield with a clear view of your face – that way it can constantly monitor your head and eye motions for signs of drowsiness.

In the even you’re so tired you could cause – or be involved in – an accident, the app plays the sound of a screeching parrot at full volume. It still directs you to the nearest cafe at this point, but the ear-piercing sound should be enough to let you know that it’s time to get off the bike, or out of the vehicle.
