General Electric’s new social media campaign is a #6SecondScience Fair which invites fans to create Vine clips displaying the miracles of science. Running from August 8th-15th, the event will feature user-generated Vines and Vine celebrities like Rudy Mancuso and Jordan Burt.
GE was inspired to host the campaign after a science experiment it tweeted became the company’s most successful Vine. The short clip showed what happened when you mixed milk, food coloring and dish soap.
Fans are invited to create their own science Vine and share it on Twitter with the hashtag #6SecondScience. GE will be retweeting and sharing the best clips, with a curated gallery on a dedicated Tumblr, and some participants will receive a special science-themed gift.
