Haunting Sculptures Of Creatures From Dreams [Pics]

Haunting Sculptures Of Creatures From Dreams [Pics]

Lara Piras

Tomas Schneider’s work observes the imagery his brain creates during the time when he’s falling asleep or daydreaming and casts the figures his mind creates into ceramic sculptures combined with and mixed media elements.

The artist explains, ‘There exists a tiny space between the conscious realm and subconscious sleep, the wake of life, or the slipstream of consciousness. This experience fascinates me. More often than not, I am occupied with a sense of falling that accompanies the loss of consciousness, or the sense of confusion brought about by the mind trying to define its state and realizing that it is neither awake nor asleep.”
