Why Creativity Is Being Threatened By The Agency World [Infographic]

iStock surveyed more than 400 young professionals about the state of creative thinking in their fields.

iStock by Getty Images commissioned KRC Research to conduct a survey called Free The Creative. The research firm was able to survey 404 creatives across the US and the UK about the state of creativity in their professions.

The results of the survey revealed that one of two creative professionals believe that creativity has stagnated or declined in the last ten years. A quarter of the respondents revealed that they spend less than two hours of the day doing creative work.

The survey participants cited lack of inspiration, lack of funding, and lack of time as the top three hurdles in their profession.

The survey also revealed that most of the survey participants experience their best creative work outside of the office and that new technology and tools help them become more creative. The results also showed that creatives seek other artistic pursuits outside of their work.

The study was released during Advertising Week 2013 in New York City.
