3D projection transforms an unexpected space into an optical illusion.

Created for the Contato Multimedia Festival, architectural lighting company 3DM has overlaid 3D projections onto a half-pipe in Sao Paulo, Brazil creating an enchanting optical illusion.

The method used to create the clever trickery is called architectural projection mapping. A technique usually reserved for large scale light shows as we’ve already seen in cities from Sydney to London, this fresh idea is being well received as an unexpected, and more underground location to hold 3D projection performances.
