Reflective jackets are definitely not at the cutting edge of fashion, but there may be hope yet in the form of the Zap commuter jacket from Sugoi. Thanks to a layer of highly reflective ground glass “pixels,” the jacket goes unnoticed during the day, but transforms into a reflective shield when the sun goes down.

All of the jacket’s reflective power comes from the glass pixels which have been screen-printed onto its exterior. That means there’s no need for any batteries or other cumbersome accessories on your daily commute. How well the reflective capabilities perform over time is yet to be seen, but it’s a big step forward for functional commuter fashion.

If you like what you see in the video below, then you can expect to pay about $150 at retail.
