Drop is an iPad-connected kitchen scale that can adjust recipes and ingredient quantities for substitutions, useful when you’re short on a certain ingredient. One of the co-founders was inspired by watching his sister puzzle over changing the quantity of ingredients and figure out how to substitute items she didnt have for those in her cupboard.
After realizing this was a common problem faced by bakers in the U.S., he got a team of designers and technologists together to come up with a solution. As 50% of home cooks use an iPad in the kitchen, they decided to couple that with a smart kitchen scale.
Drop knows when you have finished weighing one ingredient and are ready to add the next, and can instantly adjust the quantities for your favorite recipe based on the amount of ingredients you have left. Those interested in purchasing Drop when it is released can subscribe to be offered the chance to buy one on a first come, first served basis.
