Adam Leibsohn, COO of GIPHY, the largest search platform dedicated to animated clips on the web, spoke at the PSFK 2015 about how GIFs evolved as our fastest, most descriptive and efficient communication tool.

In the age of the Internet, Leibsohn talks about words as a thing of the past:

Words for meant for writing and for communicating because you need to make ideas portable before computers and the internet happened.

He argues that words are good for one sole purpose: to provide literal definitions.
