In a partnership with LACMA, the entertainment platform drew from over 130,000 works in the museum's collection

Disney and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) teamed up to retell the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast on Snapchat ahead of it’s 25th anniversary on November 22nd.

As a part of the story, they drew from over 130,000 works in the museum’s collection, which spans thousands of years and countries. The teams used pop culture references, filters, memes and hand-drawn overlays to bring the film to life.

Featured on both the LACMA and OhMyDisney accounts, it was told as a series of four Snapchat stories. They will continue to join forces on a bi-monthly basis to retell some other Disney classics in a lighthearted and contemporary way.
