Coffee on-the-go just turned even more mobile with Mokase

In desperate need of caffeine, but there is no coffee store around? No worries, Mokase, a smartphone case, can now turn your phone into a portable espresso machine, allowing you to enjoy a freshly brewed cup virtually anywhere.

To brew a fresh cup of joe, simply insert a Makaromi cartridge into the case and launch the Mokase app. In only five to eight seconds, the case, which has a built-in aluminum/silicone alloy resistor, will heat up the water to 60 degrees Celsius. Then users can pour the liquid into their favorite glassware or a specially designed plastic keyring cup.

All those worried that hot liquid in a close proximity to their phone may not be such a good idea should rest assured that the 0.7cm thick case is completely waterproof. The designers also ensured that the heating or the water do not compromise the working of the phone. In addition, the device is powered by a lithium battery and can be recharged via a USB cable.

The cartridges were custom designed to ensure fresh, Italian-approved taste every time. The coffee is sealed inside the cartridge and is freed when inserted into the phone by breaking of the membrane.

Mokase is currently available on Kickstarter, with bids starting at EUR45 and first deliveries estimated for September 2017.
