Often the biggest barrier to this interconnectivity between our digital devices is that no one lives in a purely IKEA model home where their appliances are all Apple or all Amazon. From our thermostats to refrigerators to TVs, IFTTT sees the opportunity to be the digital switchboard to enable these devices to work together. What’s more, this interconnectivity won’t only exist between our devices, but also in our relationships. Too often, we make the trade-off between being connected to the world at large and being connected to the people sitting right beside us. However, the smarter our devices become, the less glued we’ll be to our iPhones or laptop screens and the more present we’ll be with the people in our lives.
