Designer Reimagines Traditional Silverware In Luxurious Modern Shapes
Christopher Jenner celebrates traditional English craftsmanship in unexpected ways
London designer Christopher Jenner is giving traditional British silverware a contemporary spin as part of this year’s London Design Festival, launching a collaborative collection with UK silverware brand Elkington & Co.
The Epicurean Collection includes 24 luxurious pieces, including signature items like a butter dish, honey pot, cheese knife, teapot, and more. The collection’s clean lines provide a minimalist, elevated take on these everyday tools. The butter dish, for instance, is made of hand-blown crystal, while the ice bucket features a cover made of walnut. Other small details provide unique and unexpected points of visual intrigue, like the spoons, which have a squared edge instead of a rounded one.
To launch the collection, Jenner also collaborated with Studio Appetite to create ‘The Epicurean Experience’, a new installation within the ballroom at luxury Mayfair retailer Thomas Good & Co. which explores craft and creativity. The installations can be viewed at the 19 South Audley Street location in London through September 22.
