MINI Designed A Compact Living Urban Cabin In London
Architect Sam Jacob designed a cabin for MINI in London to show off high-quality home design in a compacted environment
MINI, best known as an automotive company specializing in compact cars, partnered with London-based architect Sam Jacob to design the Urban Cabin, a tiny home created in London. The motivation behind the cabin was to demonstrate the construction of a high quality structure in condensed environment.
Jacob designed the cabin to blend in with its environment, taking in small details from the other buildings that would surround it. Inside, a visitor would find a compact library to explore, a small table where they could sit to read or have coffee with a friend and a hammock for relaxing. The cabin is located in the courtyard at Oxo Tower Wharf.
The Urban Cabin was built for the London Design Festival and the MINI Living project where MINI explores the concept of designers creating creative spaces made with limited space. MINI plans to release another Urban Cabin sometime in October.
