Having a guide on a trip allows you to experience a foreign country in a way you normally couldn’t. Oregon-based start up Modern Adventure enables travelers to do just that—jet-set to places with an educated guide.

As of right now, Modern Adventure has two journeys set up for 2018—Italy and Scotland. The Scotland trip focuses on the many castles scattered throughout the country and its whiskeys. The Italy trip takes travelers from Rome to Tuscany, where they can dive deep into the country’s culture and sample its fabled food and wine.

Recently, the start up announced a successful round of seed funding where they reaped in $1 million. These funds will go to expanding the company’s partnership base and offering more journeys in the future. Those interested can find additional details about the Scotland and Italy trips on the company’s website.
