Swedish brand Foreo is introducing the world's first "smart mask" to the beauty market

In efforts to eliminate the hassles of trendy, but messy, face masks, Swedish beauty brand Foreo is introducing its technological counterpart with a device that offers the same effect—sans the goopy, wet mess.

Paul Peros, physicist and CEO of Foreo, unveiled the $270 device during last week's CES convention in Las Vegas. Still in its prelaunch phase, the handheld gadget, UFO, is available through a Kickstarter campaign at 50% off.

It boasts of a 90-second treatment, where conventional sheet masks normally take 20 minutes. It features what the brand calls a “360‎° smart mask treatment” thanks to its “hyper-Infusion Technology” and LED light therapy, similar to what you'd get during a facial at a professional spa.
