In Brief

IKEA tapped Teenage Engineering to create a collection of products for the perfect home party, including speakers and LED lights

IKEA has been busy collaborating with Swedish consumer electronics company Teenage Engineering on a portable speaker collection, equipped with everything you need to throw an impromptu “music party.” The Swedish furniture retailer previewed a prototype of the speakers, named FREKVENS (frequency in Swedish), on Instagram last week.

But the speakers, which seem to include a spotlight and LED box, are not the only thing in development. In an announcement las year, IKEA stated, “The collection FREKVENS will consist of products such as an electronic choir, vinyl player, party lighting and everything else you need in order to throw a really good music party wherever you are.” The complete line, including the aforementioned speakers, is due to arrive in stores in February 2019.
