Jordan Schenck, head of consumer marketing at Impossible Foods, has joined the speaker roster for PSFK’s CXI 2018 event on May 18 in New York, where she will deliver a keynote on innovation and branding in the food industry.

The brand’s meat-free Impossible Burger has been served up by celebrity chefs like David Chang and landed on menus at fast casual chains across the country. As consumers increasingly turn to plant-based foods for health and sustainability reasons, Impossible is poised to make an even broader impact—and it’s recent entry into White Castle indicates that it can do so at an affordable price point. The plant-based burger is created to look and taste like real meat, at a fraction of the environmental cost. Impossible says its burger production cuts greenhouse gases by 87% compared to beef, and uses 75% less water and 95% less land.

Jordan was Impossible’s first marketing hire and has spent the past three years scaling the brand. Previously, Jordan worked with Allison Johnson’s WEST consulting new economy startups on groundbreaking ways to enter and build market and at Wieden+Kennedy repositioning brands like Equinox and Gap. Her approach to building brands is driven by creating emotional experiences and targeting the heart of burgeoning cultural trends.
