In Brief

The luxury brand tricked out a version of its classic luggage with high-end speakers and everything else a DJ needs

Louis Vuitton has long been known for its branded luggage trunks, among other items, and its newest offering is geared specifically toward luxury-inclined music lovers. In conjunction with Devialet, a French brand that produces high-quality sound systems, Louis Vuitton has created a DJ trunk available via special order.

The trunk was put together to allow users to effortlessly transport a turntable, mixer, computer, headphones, vinyls and a Phantom speaker (created by Devialet). This limited edition version of the Phantom, which usually comes in white or silver, is decorated in gold with the “LV” initials as a finishing touch. Devialet says one trunk is good enough for listening to music, but two trunks will truly make a living room feel like a club experience.

Louis Vuitton follows in the footsteps of IKEA, which also recently made its foray into the branded sound system department with Teenage Engineering. The LV DJ trunk, however, is in a totally different price range. Perhaps the luxury brand will win over new fans among the house music set or simply reach a millennial audience that wants the best in home entertainment.
