Currently running in NYC, Consortium is hosting a series of pop-ups that carry customizable brands only, allowing customers a unique and personalized shopping experience

Consortium is an apparel retailer that houses made-to-order products from a variety of brands. Featuring goods from names such as Olfactory, a personalized perfume brand, and Awl & Sundry, a shop for custom styled and fitted shoes, the New York City pop-up shop is Consortium’s third location in the United States, with over a dozen to make an appearance nationwide.

Joining the apparent trend of retailers focusing their efforts on personalization, Consortium implements oversized touchscreens in-store to help customers design their own clothing, even offering personal assistants for advanced styling aid. For example, shoppers can design their own jeans with customizable pockets.

The goal of these pop-up shops is to curate a one-of-a-kind shopping experience for customers by combining items from a range of smaller brands. Consortium founder Sam Payrovi explains, “We see a huge opportunity to spearhead the customization movement by aggregating a ‘consortium’ of bespoke brands. The modern shopper craves a unique shopping experience and we believe customization delivers exactly that.”

The New York pop-up opened in mid July and will run until September 1.
